Langley’s First New Affordable Apartments in More Than 35 Years
Welcome Home
Located in the seaside village of Langley on Whidbey Island, Generations Place will offer fourteen apartments across three modern farmhouse-style buildings—designed by and for the community to serve households with modest incomes.
The seven ground floor and seven walk-up apartments are a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes. They are well-suited for a range of household sizes, with features that support comfortable, day-to-day living.
The Leasing and Application Process has started. Please see below for an update on the process.
Generations Place Leasing and Application Update
Thank you for your interest in living at Generations Place, 631 2nd Street, Langley, WA. We would like to provide an update on where we are in the leasing process and explain the next steps.
Phase 1: Interest List Confirmation
Those who joined the interest list on our website have been contacted by our property management partner, Ad-West Realty Services, to confirm their continued interest in the project.
Being on the interest list does not guarantee eligibility, selection, or housing placement. It simply ensures that interested households receive information about the upcoming application process.
Phase 2: Qualification & Screening
There will be a second outreach from Ad-West to those who confirmed their interest. This call will discuss eligibility and qualifications.
Following this, should you pre-qualify, Ad-West will provide a link to an applicant screening service, Orca Information. Each applicant will be required to pay a $50 application fee.
Phase 4: Final Approval and Leasing
Applicants who successfully complete the application process and are selected for available units will receive notification from Ad-West regarding their status.
During this phase, households may be asked to:
Provide updated documentation if required
Pay any required deposits or fees
Sign lease documents
Schedule a move-in date
Units will be offered according to the project's policies and applicable housing regulations
Future Waitlist Opportunities
Due to strong interest, not all qualified applicants will receive an available unit during the initial leasing period. Eligible households that are not immediately housed have the opportunity to be placed on a waitlist for future vacancies, subject to project policies and fair housing requirements.
We encourage everyone to remain subscribed to our newsletter for updates on this project and information about future housing opportunities.
Thank you for your interest and patience throughout this process.
Phase 3: Application Process
Those qualified to move forward will receive a link from Ad-West Realty Services will begin the formal application. We encourage you to complete the application as soon as you receive the link. This typically includes:
Submission of a completed housing application
Verification of household size
Verification of income and assets
Verification of eligibility for the specific housing program
Review of rental history and other screening criteria
Collection of supporting documentation
Applicants will be contacted directly if additional information or documentation is needed. Applications cannot proceed until they are complete.
All applicants must meet program eligibility guidelines before they can be considered for housing.
Please note that Generations Place has only two-bedroom and three-bedroom units with a minimum required household size of one person (adult or child) per bedroom. Therefore, single-person households are not eligible. We encourage folks to contact the Island County Housing Support Center for assistance with finding other options.
